wd my passport ultra 3tb not working after unlock

I have had this problem, or one similar to it, a few years ago with a different Western Digital external hard drive, but I don’t remember what fixed it then, since I am still using that one today. Neither computer has any WD software installed on it, and both drives (white and black) are unencrypted. Both computers are running the latest version of Windows 10. But when I reconnected it to my laptop, it still wouldn’t show up on anything. However, I then connected the drive to my desktop computer and it was working just fine I could read and write files, no problem. I have no experience with partitioned external drives, so I know not if this could suggest that they are actually two separate physical units (something 'hacked' in the SATA-to-USB controller, maybe) or it is just me unable to properly erase the hard drive and forget about that damn VCD. i tried the same external hardrive on another pc with window 10 but on a different version of 1803 os build 17134.1304 and it worked just fine and i am able to access the data. Disconnecting it from the hub and connecting it to one of the USB 3.0 ports on the laptop itself didn’t fix it, nor did restarting the computer. After the window updated to this new version, the WD Unlocker launcher cannot be run and i am unable to access my data on the hardrive. Immediately after, the white one (but not the black one) stopped showing up on my computer at all: not in file explorer, not in disk management, not even in device manager. I had both connected to my laptop computer via the same USB C to 4-USB 3.0 hub and was copying a folder from the black one to the white one when both drives briefly lost power, likely due to the hub not being able to draw enough for both drives.
